1. Information We Collect
Carmainty collects information that you provide directly to us when you create an account in the App, use the App, or communicate with us (for example through in-app support or email). This includes:
- Account information (name, email address, user ID)
- Vehicle information (make, model, year, VIN, license plate, odometer readings)
- Maintenance records (services, fuel-ups, expenses, reminders, specifications)
- Photos and documents related to your vehicles (stored locally or in cloud storage if you have Premium Cloud)
- Device information (device name, platform, app version) for app functionality and support
- Subscription and purchase information (managed through Apple App Store and RevenueCat)
- Error and crash reports (collected automatically to help us improve the app)
- Usage analytics (app features used, session duration) for app improvement
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send technical notices, updates, and support messages
- Respond to your comments and questions
- Monitor and analyze trends and usage
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on your device using SQLite database encryption. Authentication tokens are stored using iOS Keychain/Android Keystore for maximum security.
If you have Premium Cloud subscription, your data is synchronized to our secure servers with end-to-end encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Without Premium Cloud, your vehicle records, maintenance history, and related app content stay on your device and are not uploaded to our cloud sync service. Separately, we and our service providers may still process limited information on our servers when you use Carmainty—for example when you create or sign in to an account in the App, use the App or its APIs, manage or verify subscriptions (including through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat), contact support, or when we collect error reports and usage analytics as described in this policy.
4. Data Synchronization
With Premium Cloud subscription, your data is automatically synchronized across your devices. This synchronization is encrypted and secure. Without Premium Cloud, your vehicle and maintenance data is not synchronized to our cloud servers and remains on your device; account and service-related information may still be handled on our systems as described in the Data Storage and Security section.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to help us operate our app:
- RevenueCat: Manages in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your purchase transactions and subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Processes payment transactions for in-app purchases. Apple/Google handle payment processing and may collect payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
- Sentry: Collects error reports and crash logs to help us identify and fix issues. Sentry may collect device information, app version, and error details. See Sentry's Privacy Policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
- PostHog: Collects usage analytics (such as features used, navigation, and session activity) to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. PostHog may process device and app identifiers and event data according to its policies. See PostHog's Privacy Policy: https://posthog.com/privacy
- Cloud Storage Providers: If you have Premium Cloud, your data is synchronized to secure cloud servers. We use industry-standard cloud storage providers with encryption.
These third parties have access to your information only to perform specific tasks and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
Error reports and analytics data may be retained for up to 90 days to help us improve the app.

Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable age. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. 11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
